J & D Catering & Sweets was created with the notion of providing exceptional handcrafted catered food with a personal touch. J & D Catering provides mouthwatering custom menus plus the service of professional staff. Whether you envision a formal sit down and plate served dinner, or a simple cocktail buffet, we are here to work with you to create a unique meal that will have your guests asking for more.

Jeff and Diane Knepper purchased the J & D Mart, in New Vienna, IA, in 1998.  They greatly enjoyed serving Diane's home-cooked meals for daily lunch and dinner specials.  In 2000, Diane was approached by a regular customer and was asked to cater food for her first wedding, and the rest, as they say, is history! 

The business began in a small galley style kitchen that was only large enough to serve a short-order lunch and dinner menu. With the introduction of a full catering menu in 2000, they quickly outgrew the tiny workspace. Remodeling was a must.  In 2006, the growth continued with the addition of a full-service off-premise catering kitchen.  Yet again in 2010, the building was expanded to include more workspace for the growing bakery division along with the addition of more full-time employees.  The expansion was finally completed in 2015, with the last addition of expanded walk-in cooler and freezer space as well as a more dedicated space for our bakery.

For the convenience of our customers, and our staff, both of our businesses still operate out of the same storefront, J & D Mart.  And still today, J & D Mart continues to offer those amazing home-cooked meals as a daily lunch special, alongside a full short-order menu. 

J & D Catering is family owned and operated.  Owners Jeff and Diane Knepper work alongside their daughter Sarah and her husband Jamie. Together the four of them have been serving customers for 20+ years.
