Our catering department consists of nearly 25 employees and is led by Jeff & Diane Knepper and Sarah & Jamie Mormann. Our goal is to provide our customers with professional staff who strive to exceed your expectations!
Jeff & Diane bought the J & D Mart in 1998. In 2000 they started J & D Catering & Sweets in the same location. Over the past 20+ years they have been striving to meet and exceed client's expectations! What started as a new business opportunity for two individuals who were trying to make a fresh start, has developed into a business of love and desire to be a part of your most meaningful life events.
In his “spare time”, Jeff can be found on any golf course around! He also enjoys the simple things in life including his penny collection and a good cup of morning coffee. Diane enjoys beating Jeff at golf and watching all those sappy Hallmark Christmas movies! They both love spending time with each other, even after 40 years of marriage! They also devote every moment they can to cheering on their 6 grandchildren in various sports and fine arts activities.
Sarah is our Head Chef and Pastry Chef; she has been with our business since the very beginning. She began working part-time in the convenience store and kitchen when she was 15. Over the years she began to discover her love and passion for making food. Sarah started full time with the business at the age of 19 and has never looked back. While she never attended a formal culinary school, her ability to create and develop outstanding award-winning dishes is a true gift! She gladly leads all three of our kitchens, and is eager to help out where needed. She is generally found at her decorating table designing a masterpiece, or whisking away at the stove creating a new recipe!
Jamie is the mastermind behind the mouthwatering meats that you devour at your special occasion. He is the guy who keeps all the chaos to a minimum while managing to get all the food out the door on time on our busy weekends! Jamie started full time with our company in March of 2011 after working part time during winters while he was laid off from his construction job. He quickly became a great asset to the business by alleviating the daily pressures of meat ordering, aging, and cooking from Chef Sarah and Owner Diane. He is an invaluable member of our team.
Kelli joined the J & D team in 2019. She is employed as Diane's office assistant and has quickly become a crucial asset to the company. Kelli is available to answer any and all of your event detail questions. She also is in charge of making sure the day to day operations at our business go as smoothly as possible, from accounting, to scheduling, to just about anything you could imagine, Kelli is there with a smile and eager to help!
